Co-Founder and Mentor

Over the past 6 years, Connor Low has been an influential member of Menlo Park's musical community. Connor Low is a Hillview alum, having played in both their Concert and Jazz programs playing both French Horn and Trumpet. Recently, Connor Low has been playing in a variety of ensembles at Menlo Atherton High School. Currently, he plays Principal French Horn in Menlo Atherton's Orchestra and Lead Trumpet in Menlo Atherton's Jazz III program. Additionally, he occasionally plays with the Concert Band and Pit Orchestra programs in certain seasons. Connor is in his senior year.

When he's not in school, Connor Low directs the High School student band at Menlo.Church. Here, he manages musicians week-to-week while also performing on Guitar, Bass, Drums, and Keyboard.

Connor Low is teaching Trumpet, French Horn, Guitar, Bass, and Percussion.


Co-Founder and Mentor

Diana McGrory lives in Menlo Park and is a junior at Woodside High School. She began playing the flute at age six and has studied privately for ten years.

Diana has won awards for her flute playing in both regional and state-wide music competitions. In 2018, Diana received the opportunity to play a solo concerto with the California Youth Symphony’s Senior Orchestra, where she also serves as principal flute. Additionally, Diana recently collaborated with composer Vince Oliver on an original piece featuring flute with symphonic band accompaniment. She is also the lead alto sax in the Woodside High Jazz Ensemble and has also played with several other jazz bands and combos. 

Diana McGrory is teaching Flute, Piccolo, Clarinet, and Saxophones.




Elizabeth Higgins is a high school senior and life long musician. She has played violin for 14 years and piano for 13. She has played in both Hillview's and Menlo Atherton's Orchestras. Currently, she serves as the concertmistress for Menlo Atherton's Orchestra. She has also played in the Pit Orchestra for various school musicals. 

Elizabeth is teaching Piano and Violin.



Gregory Lee is a sophomore trombonist/euphoniumist at Menlo Atherton High School. He began playing the trombone six years ago, playing in various ensembles including Principal Trombone in Golden State Youth Orchestra’s Senior Symphony, and participating in the 2019 California All-State Junior High Symphonic Band. At the beginning of his freshman year, he picked up the euphonium and became proficient enough to double in trombone and euphonium in Menlo Atherton’s musical: Urinetown, with much success. In the present, he continues to perform with Menlo Atherton’s orchestra and is occasionally invited to play the euphonium in the concert band at the request of the music director.

Gregory Lee is teaching Trombone and Euphonium.




Conor Dunne has been playing Alto, Tenor, and Baritone saxophone, for the past four years. He played Bari in the Hillview Jazz Band, and he currently plays in the Menlo-Atherton Jazz Ensemble on Tenor. Conor is super passionate about music in and outside of school; he has played in the pit orchestra of multiple musicals (playing a variety of instruments) and he is also in the Peninsula Youth Orchestra as Principal Flute. Conor enjoys playing classical music and jazz, but he also loves to try out experimental music and extended technique on his flute in his free time. He is really looking forward to getting the chance to inspire younger musicians this summer, and cannot wait to get started!

Ava Thompson is a senior at Menlo Atherton High School. She has been playing for seven years and was part of the La Entrada Band in addition to being the current principal clarinet for the Menlo Atherton Concert Band. Ava has also played in the Golden State Youth Symphony. On the side, she put together her own highschool clarinet quartet group that performs a variety of jazz and classical music at various events and retirement homes.

Ava is teaching Clarinet.
